Google Maps Listing is a must. It’s completely free and highly effective way for local businesses to build up an online presence. Add one whether you have a website or not. You can always add a web address to your local listing later.
Here are the instructions on how it’s done:

1. Create an account for your business at https://www.google.com/accounts/
   
   
2. Once account is created, sign into Google’s Local Business Centre at http://www.google.com/local/add?hl=en-gb&gl=gb and add your business details. Add a nice description and as many details as possible to help your business stand out.
   
   
3. Once you are done, you must verify your listing by business phone or mail. Google will provide you a PIN (via phone or by mailing the card to your business address) and once you enter this PIN into your listing, it’s immediately verified. Phone verification is preferred as it will be complete a lot faster.

You can update your Google Maps listing any time. Add your logo, photos, YouTube videos, coupons, etc. Google lets you see how many clicks your listing is getting. Encourage your customers white reviews about your services. Listings with the higher number of reviews tend to show up higher in the search results.
